Carbon dioxide capture and storage (CSC)

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a greenhouse gas that occurs naturally in the atmosphere. Human activities are increasing the atmospheric concentration of CO2 and in this way contributing to global warming of the planet. CO2 emissions are produced when fuel is burned, whether in large power plants, car engines, or heating systems. Emissions can also occur through other industrial processes, for example when resources are extracted and processed or when forests are burned.

Carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) is one of the techniques that could be used to reduce CO2 emissions caused by human activities. This technique could be applied for those emissions that come from large power plants or industrial plants.
